Kashan Rugs are consistent, quality Persian rugs that originated in the town of Kashan in the Esfahan Province of Iran. Kashan rugs commonly feature elegant curved lines and symmetrical, repeating patterns. While many have central medallions, it is not unusual to find those that have an allover pattern instead. Scrolling vines and palmettes are frequent design elements, as are the classic Persian colors of red, blue, and ivory. Kashan rugs are hand knotted with wool, silk, or a combination of the two.
